How to Install your New Presets on Mobile in 5 easy steps

This tutorial will give you the ability to install Lightroom Mobile presets into the Lightroom Free Mobile app without using the desktop version at all. You will also be able to save them as presets and apply them with one click.

If you do not have a Lightroom yet, you can simply download and install it from here and then you can simply sync your presets between Lightroom Desktop and Mobile.

But if you want to download Lightroom mobile presets straight to your phone and use them on the free app without going through the desktop version, you can do it directly on your phone. If you would like to learn more about how to install your presets on Desktop, you can have a look at this tutorial.

You can also check our customized Desktop and Mobile presets here.

In order to install the presets on your phone, follow the steps presented below.

OPTION 1

• Step 1: Open Victoria Christoph email and download the Files.

Open your email from your smartphone and press the download link & open the zip file.

• Step 2: Unzip the Files

Unzip the files. You can use apps like iZip to unzip the file directly on your phone. For Android you can use zip extractor such as “Win Zip”

Click to “download the file” and then tap on “Open” in iZip. Then, in order to unzip the file, press the Zip folder. Then press “Extract”

Now you will see the folder with all DNG files. Click on the folder. You will be now able to see each of the presets separately.

Now you need to transfer the DNG files to your phone via Dropbox or any other method you prefer.

Click on “Preview Content” so that you will be led to each of the presets DNG files. Then click on the Folder on the bottom left-hand side

Save the file as an Image. Do the same for the rest of the Files. Choose the second one and save it again as an image. Do the same for the rest of the files.

Now you can go to Step 3

OPTION 2

• Step 1: Open Victoria Christoph email and download the Files.

Open your email from your smartphone and press the download link & open the zip file.

• Step 2: Unzip the Files

Unzip the files on your computer and upload them to your DropBox Account. Then open the Dropbox account on your phone and follow the steps presented below.

First, open the Dropbox app on your phone and tap on the 3 dots each DNG file. Click on “Export”

Now Press “Save Image”

• Step 3Import the preset files into the Lightroom app

At this point, you should have all of your DNG files saved to your phone and now you just need to add them to Lightroom mobile and save presets out of them.

Go to your photo gallery and check as all the files should be already there. Do not worry if you see blank files, that’s how they should look.

Now Open the Lightroom app. and create an album. For this tutorial, I will use the name “Victoria Christoph Presets

Then open the new album, tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner and tap on “Add Photos”

Then select “From camera row”

Next, select the DNG files (presets) from your camera roll. Press “Add” and import them into the newly created album in Lightroom.

• Step 4: Create and save your New Presets

Now you will be able to see the New Preset screen. It illustrates all the different options that you can use to customize your preset. Go into the album containing your newly imported DNG files.

Open the first file. Now tap on the 3 dots icon at the top right on the screen.

Tap on Create Preset. Now you can name your preset and add it into a Preset Group in Lightroom.

Then, you have to save it in User Presets or you can create a new preset group and name it however you like. We would recommend the second option in case you have too many presets installed on your Lightroom.

The checkboxes determine which picture settings you’d like to save with this preset. Only the settings you choose here will be applied to the pictures you edit with this preset in the future. We personally do not choose options Tools, Optics and Geometry as this might vary from picture to picture.

When you’re done with the settings save your preset by tapping on the checkmark icon at the top right corner. Now you can repeat the same process on each DNG file as you will need to save each preset separately. Please note, this process is done once only!

• Step 5: Using Lightroom Mobile presets

In order to use now, the installed presets, choose a photo from your Photo Library and Import it to Lightroom. Select the Presets icon in the menu at the bottom of the screen and click on it. Make sure the Preset Group that’s selected is the one where you saved your new presets. If you saved them in the User Presets group, select that.

Then you can edit the photo by choosing one of the preset from the list that you have just imported and then click on the checkmark. You can still continue to edit the photo and make adjustments if you like after you’ve applied the preset.
